회화문화재보존수복학과(Department of Preservation and Restoration Studies of Painting Cultural Assets)

1. 학과 소개

한국은 오천년의 긴 역사와 문화를 가지고 있는 나라이다. 따라서 매년 발굴된 문화재와 전승된 문화재가 수 만점에 달하며, 그에 따라 박물관 및 미술관에 소장된 문화재의 보존과 보수복원이 시급하게 요청되고 있다.
그러나 지금까지 국내에서 이루어진 연구 및 교육은 다소 피상적이어서 주로 이론적 연구에만 중점을 두어왔다. 따라서 이제부터는 실제적으로 과학적인 관점에서 재료나 기법들을 연구하고 복원하는 전문가를 양성해야할 당위성이 대두되고 있으며, 시간이 갈수록 이 분야에 대한 시장이 확대되고 있다. 또한 장차 북한과 해외에 있는 문화재 등도 고증하고 보존및 수복해야 하는 과제가 있다.
이에 본 대학원에서 이에 관한 전공을 설치하고 전문 인재를 양성하여 넓어져 가는 시장에 대비할 뿐만 아니라, 전통에 입각한 창작활동을 할 수 있는 인재양성을 목표로 한다.
